RTRT in Colorado - What's coming up this week & New Coupon

Happy Summer to RTRT - Pagosa Paper Crafters from Carryn.......

For those of you who are just finding out about the store, it opened on May 1st and I am excited to assist you in having fun with this world of Paper Crafting (Cards, Scrapbooking, etc.).   The Remember This Retreat which will be happening in Pagosa on July 26th and 27th  is going to be incredible.  Melissa and Rene are hard at work today putting some thoughts and final touches to 4 beautiful projects for the Retreat.  The postings of which will be on this site very soon.  I know some of you are waiting to see what you might be working on at the Retreat to make your final decision.  There will be two projects for each day and the day will be from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm.   Remember you are able to attend just one of the days if your schedule does not allow attending both.  The cost is $50 per day and must be paid no later than July 1st.  Come by the store to sign up. 

On this past Saturday morning, we had a delightful class of Paper Flowers    taught by Tamie Hemphill.  The ladies had so much fun and learned a lot from Tamie that they decided they wanted more flowers.......so on June 29th at 10 am until Noon they will be doing Sunflowers and Dogwoods.  The class is already basically closed because of the requests to do this class.  Stop in and see me and I can put you on the list to form another class.  This fall, we will be doing pine cones and poinsettias which will be a lot of fun.  You have to look twice to know that they are made with paper.  Here is a photo of the three flowers from Saturday's class:

In case you have not figured out and see my excitement when you come in the store........I love this little store (within The Artist Within - on the road behind the City Market) and as I told Melissa the other day......it might remind you of "Cheers".   People (my friends old and new) sit and pull themselves up to the table to chat about "Crafting" or "Whatever" it really is a "friendly store"......I just do not serve up any beer! Ahhhh.... But, you might get an answer to your Crafting Problem; discover something that just came into the store or is coming soon; OR watch me in the middle of FUN and a sometimes MESSY project!!  

Come visit with me on Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Saturday from 11 to 4.   But, now that you have found us at,  www.rememberthisrememberthat.com right here on Monday morning, then you can find out what I am doing in this little shop each week. Remember,  Melissa is so generous.....she posts a 30% off coupon for ONE ITEM twice a month which you can print off and use on anything in the store - BUT only once for each of the two times it is offered from the 1st to the 15th and then from the 16th until the end of a month.  Remember your coupons ladies!!!

Monday, June 17th - Coloring with the Fabulous Distress Markers of Tim Holtz within a product that will be in the store SOON!

Wednesday,  June 19th - Instead of Washi Tape this week ....Ahhhhh... (BUT we do have "new"  Washi Tape in the store),  I will also be Coloring with our NEW Spectrum Noir Alcohol Ink Pens - Love These!  But....ladies I have to tell you they are continuing to "fly" out of the store as soon as they arrive.  Put your order in with me and I will pull them as soon as they arrive.   

Saturday, June 22nd - Make n' Take for $1 for the first 3 people as soon as I open at 11 am.   I have one of my Classes working on cards with me starting at 1 pm, so come early for the Make n' Take.   I will be using the beautiful Flower Soft on a card and the lucky ones will not want to miss that.  Come check it out because it will be posted all week it is prettier in person.   By the way......we have "new" colors in the Flower Soft as well.  It is hard to choose which color to play with for you for this Make n' Take.  But, a hint it is called "Sweet Pea" and it has always been one of my favorites.

Girls Night Out

Silhouettes & Ice Resin - Saturday June 22nd

We will be using Silhoulettes for this month's ICE Resin class.

Silhouettes are sweet little bronze cut-outs designed for you to use in your mixed media work! You can use them individually or layer two of them to create a “window” which is what we will be doing. You can insert text, images or photos (painted with ICE Resin of course!) inside the window. The bronze takes easily to a metal hole punch so you attach the two layers or use resin to seal them together, which is what we have done.

 
         

We will be painting them in an array of colors using the new ICED Enamels and use the finished piece to add to this adorable wallart project.  We created two samples, one using a bird silhouette and the other using a sweet little dress.  Please let us know which you would like to make when you sign up for class. The shabby hanger from Melissa Frances comes with the project!

Next weeks happenings at RTRT in Colorado

Remember....every Monday and Wednesday are Demo Days - a few minutes of your time to learn something new...perhaps!! 

But first I wanted to share a couple of pictures of my two Granddaughters who recently spent the weekend with me and LOVED helping in the shop.  I quickly put them to work (grin) unloading the box of new product and putting it in its separate piles and placing items around in the store.  They also helped counting the $$$'s to get the register ready for the morning customers.  She liked the "ns"  button......She also counted it at the end of the day.  GOOD JOB GIRLS....Grandma loves her little helpers!

June 10th  - "How Did She Do That" -  DEMO MONDAY  -  Drop by the store any time from 11 - 3 and see a short demo on using Alcohol Inks and Blending Solution (Tim Holtz - Adirondack products).  You will also see the finished product of a card using the tag in the picture.  These products can be purchased in the store.  

June 12th  - "Washi Tape Wednesday"  - DEMO WEDNESDAY -  Stop in the store any time from 11 - 3 and see a short demo on once again using one of my favorite products Washi Tape in yet another way.  By Wednesday, we will have MORE of this wonderful Tape in the store which is ALL THE RAGE in the Paper Crafting world.   When you are in the store I'd love to show you some of the past Washi Tape fun that we've had.  Ladies.....this tape will keep your children busy.

June 12th, Wednesday, is the last day that you can sign up and pay for a special class in making Paper Flowers by Tamie Hemphill.  Class space is very limited.  The charge is $18 and all of the supplies are included for this class being held on June 15th at 10 am at Remember This.  It is a 2 hour class in which students will learn to make two flowers and also learn about the tools, products and fun in what this special craft is all about.  For those interested in doing the more involved flowers, Remember This will be offering more classes with Tamie and the store is considering offering more of the products needed to go forward with this beautiful craft.  Watch this posting each week or stop by the store and to sign up.  Some of you may already have some of the tools in your own craft environment. Once this class is full, we probably will be offering a repeat because there are several gals who could not make this first class.  

June 15th, Saturday at 10 am to Noon:  Paper Flowers Class By Tamie Hemphill for the students who have paid their $18 by Wednesday, June 12th.  The store will be open at 10 am that day (on the North side of the building through the Remember This entrance) and though tight with the class going on, I will be there to answer any questions or help you make any purchases that you need.  

MAKE n' TAKE card for $1, which is offered each Saturday to the first few customers while supply lasts,  will not begin until 12:30 on Saturday, June  15th.   I have prepared a really fun 4th of July theme card this week.  The card can easily be made with a Birthday verse inside for those who have Birthdays in their families or friends at that time. The store has some beautiful 12 x 12 papers for the 4th of July events for your Scrapbooking or more cards.

RETREAT:

REMEMBER THIS is having their first Annual Retreat here in Pagosa Springs on July 26th and 27th, 2013.  Two very full fun packed days of Paper Crafting beautiful projects (one in the Am and one in the Afternoon) on each day.  The time will be from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.  The place to be announced very soon!  The cost is $50 per day and must be paid no later than July 1, 2013.  For those of you who live in or around Pagosa Springs, if time does not allow you to do both days, then you can sign up for either day of this event. Watch this website for a posting of the projects which we will be working on at the Retreat. Come by the store, Remember This,  on Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Saturday from 11 to 4 to learn more about this wonderful event happening in Pagosa Springs.  Sign up and pay your money before it is too late and you will have to wait until next year.  Melissa and Rene will be coming from Kansas, to teach us some of the latest and greatest happenings in our fabulous world of Paper Crafting.  Melissa is bringing a group, as of this writing, of twelve students from their classes in her original store in Gardner, Kansas (outside of Kansas City). How fun this will be to meet, mingle and learn from each other.  We all have two things in common.....Melissa and Rene's wonderful talents that they will be sharing with us and our love of Paper Crafting.
